Another complex coming up…

The old house right opposite to Adigas restaurant is giving way to another commercial establishment. The entire house is demolished and looks like they are starting 20feet below the ground level.. The work is in full progress we need to wait and see what comes up here.  If you recall on this street there was a small shop which use to sell condiments and groceries, right next to it was an Flour mill which use to grind lot of chilli and masla powder..if you were passing by this shop you could inhale a good smell of sambar powder smell…, next to it was an icecream shop (no business ?),  next to it is ATM from Vijaya Bank inbetween was cigarette shop which had people always standing a puffing huge smoke balls (what an annoying thing it was!)

2 ATMs in Colony.

Residents are getting pampered with lot of comforts.  No need to keep emergency money at home J.  LIC colony is having  TWO ATMs. One from the AXIS Bank in down road of USHA’s apartment ( near the auto stand) sometimes referred as 16^th A main.  And the other one near the Kalpana Stores (Kakka Angadi),  if you are a resident you know there was a Vegetables shop at this place.  The Vegetables shop moved one right to the place where “Chamundeshwari Jewelers” was located.   The vacated vegetable shop is the ATM for DCB.  Chamundeshwari Jewelers is located next to Kakka angadi now.

Also heard that the flourmill is going to be removed and some high end shops are going to take those places..

Deepavali festivals…

Residents of LIC colony had a fun filled deepavali festival. As usual, 4^th block shops had lots of discount for the buyers.. These shops were running full and lot of people were picking up new clothing for festival.  Its nice to see such a tradition…

There were lots of crackers, sounds, rockets in the night.  Overall looks like lot of fun.  Haven’t heard of any fire accidents in the colony which is very nice.

Power fluctuations

There was lot of power fluctuations observed in several parts of the C O L O N Y.   Also few roads are still in bad shape as the drain work is in progress.  Hope it will be complete as early as possible.

Serial Shooting in progress @ Temple

When I was walking through the temple street ( In between 3^rd Cross and 4^th Cross), noticed that Kannada TV Serial “ Arundati” shooting was in progress…

Chariot Festival

Yesterday was chariot festival @ Sri Srinivasa Temple in the LIC Colony. God-Idol went on the chariot from Srinivasa temple to Narasimha temple and back.  It was a fantastic decorated chariot, didn’t had the camera in hand so couldn’t take the pics.  The decorations were better than last year.

Wishing all the PUC and 10th Standard Students…

Today and tomorrow ( May10th and May-11) are very important days for PUC-II and 10^th Standard Students. Their hard effort is going to be shown as results in the next two days.

Our Wishes are there with you students… Let all the LCH students come out in flying colors.

BBMP is taking property taxes for the year 2011-12. Pay your property taxes as early as possible

Avoid 16 'E' Main Road.

Due to heavy rain few drains have opened up and avoid using the 16^th ‘E’Main Road. The road that connects kalpana stores to 2^nd Cross.  You can use alternate ways like ‘ LaxmiNarsimha Temple Road ’ to connect or use the 4^th Cross / Usha’s apt road ( swagath theater road).

Low Pressure and Rains in Jayanagar

Lot of torrential rains observed for the last few days. The rain usually starts around 4:30pm to 5:00pm its creating lot of trouble to the LCH residents. Very light participation observed in Park Visitors.  Most of the people prefer to stay at home than venturing out for a walk. Looks like a safe bet.

Make sure for your car wiper cleaning liquid is full. Always carry an umbrella esp. 4:30pm onwards J.  Try to have only bottled water in the restaurants. No idea how good will be their water purification system esp. when there is lot of rain.

Bike riders carry rain coat and an umbrella.  Did somebody say easier said than done?

Meteorologists are seeing a trough of low pressure at mean sea level from Maharashtra (Vidarbha) to Lakshadweep area across interior Karnataka. Accompanying this is an upper air trough from AP (Telangana) to Lakshadweep across interior Karnataka, around 3.6 km above sea-level. Aggravating this is an upper air cyclonic circulation over interior Karnataka

Showers and Kempegowda birthday

It’s raining in overall Bangalore and our colony has also joined the party.  All the roads around this place are wet.

Looks like Founder/Knight of Bangalore KempeGowda's Birthday is in full swing in Bangalore and LCH Park is also fenced with colorful lights.  Hope it’s safe and no kids touch around the fence.

New Toyota Etios in our Colony.

Looks like there is a new Etios Toyota in our colony. We saw it today in 2^nd Cross parked outside.  Wishing all the best to the owner and if anyone wants to touch base for first hand feedback you can talk to the owner right opposite to the HPCOMS shop… right next to the park.

LCH Residents Directory is getting updated....

Heard that LCH core team is updating the directory of residents and contact numbers…. Wish they include email, twitter and facebook id’s.  Looks like a grand old idea to include only phone numbers.   If possible will scan the entire stuff and upload it. 

Possibly will put in only very important pages…

Civil Works and mess in few roads....

There is lot of road repair works going on in 1st Cross  (Near Canara bank holiday home) and 2^nd Cross. This is creating quite an inconvenience  to the road users as this is one of the important roads of LCH.  There is lot of cut stones, sand and un-used cements thrown.

Also noticed today that there is a new drain being built near “KR46 DVD” Rentals onwards towards “Kalpana Stores”.  This might create quite a mess.

Also looks like there is a drain leak in the intermediate road connecting 2^nd Cross and 3^rd Cross and it is stinking a lot.

In the 5^th Cross they are putting new Drain and because of this there is lot of inconvenience for the residents and they are parking their cars either in offices or at their relatives places.

 Looking forward for these civil works to be completed soon and give the residents some peace of mind.
